Competitiveness, which includes greater productivity, is a key factor for socio-economic development and sets the level of prosperity that a society can reach. The competitiveness breach between the countries of the Western Hemisphere remains wide. In order to achieve sustainable and long-term growth, the region must invest in quality infrastructure, overcome the barriers in the logistic supply chains and promote efficient logistic operations.

World Economic Forum

The II Hemispheric Conference on Competitiveness and Port Logistics: Connectivity for Development provides a forum for the analysis of policies and strategic actions that promote efficient logistic operations in ports, multimodal transportation, and physical connectivity to increase the competitiveness in the region.

Organized by the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation of Mexico, through its General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine (SCT-CGPMM), and the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (S/CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS), the event offers an international platform for public-private dialog and the exchange of successful experiences for the development of competitive, sustainable, and efficient ports.

Preliminary topics include:

  • Public-Private Alliances for the Attraction of Investments in Port Development
  • Single Window Supply Chains for Greater Efficiency
  • Environmental Innovation in Port Development
