Online Mentoring Session for Women in the Port and Maritime Industries

Organized by the Women in Maritime Association Caribbean (WiMAC) and the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS), the Online Mentoring Session for Women in the Port and Maritime Industries brought together women with a group of accomplished mentors to promote cross-organizational knowledge and experience sharing in an open, personal, and interactive setting. In small groups, selected participants had the opportunity to directly engage with their mentor and address key issues, challenges, and opportunities for women working in the region’s port and maritime industries.

General Objectives

• Connect women who seek guidance and opportunities to further their professional and personal development with women who have specific skills and knowledge in their area of interest
• Provide an open and interactive forum for knowledge exchange as it relates to women in the port and maritime industries
• Foster communication, connection, and empowerment among women
• Present existing knowledge/experience in form of best practices and lessons learned
