Sustainable Port Management and Environmental Protection TAG
Cap. Alt. Ana Laura López Bautista
Chair of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on Sustainable Port Management and Environmental Protection
General Coordinator of Ports and Merchant Marine - Secretary of the Navy (Mexico).
The General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine of Mexico is committed to promoting sustainable port administration with initiatives for the development of ports, the protection of the marine environment and its natural environment.
Those of us who know the sea closely, its potential and the projection it generates in the economic and social development of a country, are committed to implementing actions that allow its protection and conservation.
In this sense, Mexico, as a member country of the Inter-American Committee on Ports and president of the Technical Advisory Group on Sustainable Port Management and Environmental Protection, has the ISO 14000 international certification in environmental matters in all of its federal ports, with which they contribute to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. With the rationalized management of waste and the sustainable use of resources, we help to conserve biodiversity and ecosystems.
The objective of this group is to promote projects, through cooperation and exchange of information, in favor of the environment, which once are generators of economic development and good practices of social responsibility for the benefit of the region.
