Compendium on Port Legislation

In the context of the work that has been led by the National Port Administration (APN) of Uruguay, as Chair of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) on Public Policy, Legislation and Regulation, the CIP Secretariat is pleased to present the first Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) E-Book titled “Compendium on Port Legislation of the Americas.”

The E-Book is the result of an initiative led by this TAG, particularly by Naval Engineer Alberto Díaz, Chair of the ANP, with the support of Dr. Edgardo Amoza, without whom it would not have been possible to present the experiences on legislation of the CIP Member States.

Its main objective is to illustrate different normative realities of CIP Member States.

Most importantly, it aims at providing the port community of the Americas with management models and expertise of qualified legal specialists of the port sector in the region and lays the foundations to create a tool for a possible harmonization of port legislation.

The E-book also intends to create a community of experts and professionals from the highest level of public and private sectors with contributions of 16 maritime and port law experts from 10 CIP Member States.

The CIP Secretariat wishes to express its gratitude and congratulations to the ANP of Uruguay for this important reference of port legislation in the Americas.
