President of the Board - National Port Authority (APN) of Peru

The National Port Authority of Peru (APN), an entity attached to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), promotes the modernization and sustainable development of the National Port System to strengthen it in the face of globalization, the growth of the export sector and the consolidation of the port community.

Within this framework, one of the APN's priorities is to encourage good sustainable port management practices in the various stakeholders that are part of the national port community, with the purpose of generating a greater interrelation in the logistics chain through sustainable operations and infrastructure in accordance with new technologies, thus strengthening the leadership in port development at the regional level.

Thus, the APN, representing the Republic of Peru as a Member State of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS) and in its capacity as Chair of the Technical Advisory Group on Sustainable Port Management and Environmental Protection, expresses its commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection in the hemisphere, will work together with the members of the committee, promoting strategies, as well as the exchange of experiences and knowledge, in an international platform for public and private dialogue, in addition to strengthening the ties of cooperation in our community, in order to achieve greater development of foreign trade in harmony with the environment, as a fundamental part of the logistics chain.
