The growth of international trade in the region depends, among other factors, on the timely adaptation of ports to new demands, where a modern infrastructure with emphasis on environmentally sustainable operations is a defining component for expansion and sustainable growth.

Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean

Recognizing the importance of the efficient and environmentally sustainable management of ports, for the economic growth and sustainable development of the region, the IV Hemispheric Conference on Sustainable Port Management and Environmental Protection: Green Management as a Key to Competitiveness, will provide an international platform for public and private dialogue on strategic actions that promote sustainable maritime-port management.

Organized by the General Coordination of Ports and Merchant Marine of the Secretariat of Transports and Communications of Maexico and the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Ports of the Organization of American States, the Conference will allow the identification of the latest practices in environmentally sustainable port development, according to technologies, operations and competitive infrastructures.

Decision makers from governments, international organization, the private sector and civil society will address issues and identify successful practices in sustainable port management and environmental protection.
