V Hemispheric Seminar on Public Policies, Legislation and Regulation

The National Port Commission (CPN) of Guatemala, in its capacity as Chair of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAG) on Public Policies, Legislation and Regulation, and of the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS), are holding the V Hemispheric Seminar on Public Policies, Legislation and Regulation “Modern Legislation for Digital Port Transformation” and the XVIII Port & Maritime Congress "Competitive, Secure, and Technological Ports", November 6 - 8, 2024, in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
This hemispheric seminar will provide an international platform for public-private dialogue at the highest level, to address key aspects of legislation in the context of port security, facilitation, modernization, and digital transformation. Industry leaders and decision-makers from public and private entities, as well as representatives of academia and think-tanks, will share trends, successful practices, and strategic actions to promote port legislation as a catalyst for the development of a modern and competitive sector, with an emphasis on technological transformation, green legislation, and port security through adequate risk management. It is expected that this event, with an emphasis on the modernization and use of legislation and public policies on port matters, will have a positive impact, allowing participants to have valuable inputs for compliance with the guidelines issued by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), in terms of innovation, facilitation, and port security.
