The 5th Hemispheric Conference on Sustainable Port Management and Environmental Protection:
“Environmental Sustainability in Ports: In Search of Successful Practices” will provide an international platform for port dialogue and knowledge
exchange at the highest governmental and corporate levels.

Organized by the Coordination General of Ports and Merchant Marine of the Communications and Transports Secretariat (SCT) of Mexico, with the
invaluable support of Port Authority of Veracruz S.A. C.V. (APIVER) and the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (S/CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS), the Conference will focus on the main aspects of sustainable port management and its relation to competitive operations. Representatives of National Port Authorities, decision makers from the public and private sector, as well as experts from International Organizations will identify key aspects of successful green port practices including:

  • Strategic advantages of sustainable dredging
  • Climate Change resilience
  • Green port certification
  • Private investment for sustainable port development
  • Disaster risk management
  • MARPOL compliance
