III Hemispheric Seminar on Port Legislation

Organized by the Honduras National Port Enterprise (EPN) and the Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (S/CIP) of the Organization of the American States (OAS), the seminar will provide an international platform for dialog at the highest governmental and corporate levels to address key aspects of port legislation, public policies, and regulation.

Decision-makers from public and private entities, as well as representatives from academia and civil society will share successful practices and strategic actions for the modernization of maritime-port legislation in line with regional and global trends, including automation, green legislation, and risk management, among other.

During Roundtable Discussions, industry experts will offer a series of recommendations for tackling legislative challenges of the region’s port and maritime industry and present integral components of efficient port legislation as a foundation for competitiveness.

Topics include:

  • Regulatory frameworks for new technologies in ports;
  • Environmental regulation for sustainable port management;
  • Integral risk management and regulatory policies;
  • Public-private cooperation and strategic alliances in legislation.
