Guide to Tackling Harassment in the Waterway Transportation Sector
In an increasingly dynamic scenario in the waterway sector, the National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ) and the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor) — in partnership with WISTA Brazil and the Maritime and Port Law Commission of the Federal Council from the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) — understand the complexity of issue of harassment against women and recognize the importance of fostering respectful human and social relations in maritime and port activities.
This Guide provides good practices that will serve as guideline tools and promoting safer environments, providing clarity on considered conduct of abusive practices that constitute of harassment and presenting examples of appropriate and inappropriate behaviors at the work environment.

IMO-WISTA presents report of the Women in Maritime Survey
The Women in Maritime survey 2024, jointly published by IMO and the Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA), provides new insights into gender diversity within the industry. The report presents data on the proportion and distribution of women working in the maritime sector from data gathered from IMO Member States and the private sector.

The Panama Maritime Authority - AMP, as the supreme entity for the execution of the National Maritime Strategy of the Republic of Panama and representative before International Organizations in matters related to the Maritime and Port Sector, such as the Inter-American Committee on Ports of the Organization of American States, has been accompanying the Country and the Maritime, Port and Logistics Industry by carrying out tangible actions in order to advance the 2030 Agenda and achieve the SDGs, aligning efforts with a shared State vision.
Taking into account the direct and indirect relationship of maritime transport, ports, seafarers and the community towards the SDGs, the MPA has also developed projects aimed at "the individual, the human being, the people, as the center of our actions, identifying the solution of pending and unpostponable issues".
Therefore, it is an honor after a unanimous vote, to be the Chair of the Technical Advisory Group on Port-City Relation, Social Responsibility and Gender Equality and to continue working hand in hand with all OAS Member States, for a maritime port industry with an integrated vision towards economic, environmental and social sustainability from the world-class Logistics Hub in the Americas, Panama.
