4th Hemispheric Conference on Waterways, Inland and Cruise Ports

The IV Hemispheric Conference on Waterways, Inland and Cruise Ports, organized by the General Ports Administration (AGP) of Argentina and the CIP Secretariat, provided an international platform for public-private port dialogue in which decision-makers from governments, international organizations, private sector and civil society shared successful waterway transport practices, emphasizing the economic benefits of an integrated and sustainable port system.

Presented topics:

  • Maritime-river connectivity for global trade
  • The future of the Cruise industry with more resilient operations
  • Waterways as facilitators of inter-regional trade
  • Climate change and its impact on inland waterway transport
  • Navigation and its role in maritime and river integration
  • Sustainable dredging for greater competitiveness in port development projects

The event included a Port Dialogue Table, where representatives of the National Port Authorities offered recommendations on sustainable connectivity for a more competitive region and to address diverse port development challenges.
